The Women’s Studies Program has launched a new Bachelor
of Arts (BA4402). The major offers a wide range of courses that ensure
a unique program of study for each student. It is organized into three
tracks: global, sexuality,
and general . Students will choose one of these
tracks to focus their cousework in, and then round out their programs
with courses from either of the other two tracks.
Here's how it works, more specifically.

Track Requirements (20 hours):*
Students will choose 12 hours from one track, and 8 hours from either
of the other two tracks.
NOTE: No more than 2 courses may be taken in any one
discipline to fulfill Track requirements, nor can any single course
be taken to fulfill both a Core and a Track requirement. In addition,
no single course may be taken to satisfy more than one track.
The Global track
focuses on the study of women and gender from an international and cross-cultural
perspectives.
The Sexuality track
focuses on the study of gender and sexuality as categories of social
and cultural analysis.
The General track
offers a variety of courses that address gender and related topics.
*No more than 2 courses may be taken in any one discipline to fulfill
Track requirements.
** No single course may be taken to fulfill both a Core and a Track
requirement.
***No single course may be taken to satisfy more than one track.
The Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies is an
interdisciplinary major within the College of Arts and Sciences, and
requires the completion of all College
of Arts and Sciences requirements. Students
are encouraged to complement their Women's Studies major with minors
in other fields and/or double-majors that are consistent with their
educational and professional interests.
