Course
Description

Interrelationships of plants and humans from both historical and modern points of view, origins of agriculture and civilization, tropical and temperate food plants, medicinal plants, drug plants, destruction of environment, and its ultimate effect on food plants. 4 lec.

Methods of Course Instruction

Readings in text, at-home projects with Blackboard submissions.

Course Objectives

To expose students to the variety of interactions between plants and people: how plants impact our lives on a daily basis, have impacted history, and will impact our future.


General Course Requirements

Three exams and five small projects (cross word puzzle, discussion board, treasure hunt, 1-2 page paper, do-it-yourself) are required.

Exams
Requirements

3 exams - No proctoring required

How are exams to be taken:  Exams are to be taken on-line at home through Blackboard, all questions are multiple choice.

Dates of Exams
Target dates Dec 5, 17 and 28.  All exams are available on-line for at least 48 hours.  Students may choose any convenient time during those hours to complete the exams.
