Course Objectives |
This course exposes the students to the art of ancient Near Eastern civilizations that predated classical antiquity. It focuses on the region of old Mesopotamia, Persia, Turkey, Egypt, and the Levant and deals with selected issues from that time period. It also investigates the spiritual beliefs that led to the aesthetic development of the ancient representations, including painting, sculpture, and architecture of excavated sites. |
