Description

Art of ancient Rome.

Prerequisites

Junior standing or permission.



Methods of Course Instruction

This course is taught entirely online. It is important that you use your campus email address and log on to the Blackboard site at least three times a week. When submitting written assignments, always use MS Word, Power Point, or save your document as doc or in rich text format rtf.
The main communication between teacher and students is blackboard (BB) and email (OU email).  Every email must include the sender’s full name and course # registered in.  An email with no name and course # will not be answered.


Course Objectives

This course exposes the students to the history of Roman Art from Romulus to Constantine's death. Topics covered include painting, sculpture, and architecture. This course also covers Roman religion and its impact on art and basic critical theory about Roman art.
