Descriptions:
Iyengar Yoga
The current surge in the practice of yoga worldwide shows that yoga is as relevant today as it was 5,000 years ago. The stress of our complex lives and responsibilities may at times overshadow our personal and spiritual needs. When practiced with patience, determination and effort, yoga invigorates the health of our bodies, steadies our minds and enlightens our spirit. BKS Iyengar is a living yoga master and one of the world's foremost authorities on yoga. He believes that yoga should be available to everyone, and has developed a method to allow access to yoga for all. Props are used in the Iyengar tradition of yoga to help attain posses which we may be unable to do otherwise. Iyengar yoga is anatomically correct because of the emphasis on proper alignment of the body. With the practice of yoga, comes a sense of physiological well-being and a connectedness with our own body and mind.
