Instructions for Classes
Fitness Sessions Schedule
 
 
WellWorks offers a variety of fitness activities Please refer to the fitness activities schedule to see which classes are currently offered. Please read "Instructions for Classes" before taking any scheduled fitness activity.
 
Fitness/Aqua Class Descriptions:
Step-N-Strengthen
This effective combination of Step aerobics and an extended resistance training improves your cardiovascular system and muscle function. Expect a 7-10 minute warm up with a 20-25 minute cardio segment on the step followed by 20-25 minutes of strength training and a 7-10 minute cool down/stretch. The perfect workout!
Power Strength
Let your body experience its strength. Build lean muscle mass while you strengthen all the major muscle groups in your body. This class will begin with a short warm up followed by 10-15 minutes of strength work using equipment such as stability balls, hand weights, body bars, resistance bands and body weight. Be prepared for a very intense workout followed by a nice stretch at the end.
Strong Step
This fun, challenging, safe and effective Step areobics class provides all three criteria for fitness--cardiovascular training, muscle toning, stretching and flexibility. Regular heart rate monitoring allows you to participate at an appropriate and comfortable level.
H20 Challenge
This class is held in the Aquatic Center in the shallow end of the pool and incorporates cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility training in a one hour, no impact class. No swimming skills required! Take the challenge.
Exercise Ball
This is a class that will focus on core strength and balance as well as the major muscle groups. It is an entire hour on the ball. There will be a 5-7 minute warm up followed by 40-45 minutes of work on the ball with a 7-10 minute stretch at the end. A great addition to your weekly workouts.
Strength Ball
This class is a combination of Power Strength and Exercise Ball. You will work on all the major muscle groups as well as core and balance using the ball, hand weights, body bar, resistance bands, and body weight.
Hi/Lo
This interval like cardio class offers a combination of higher intensity and lower intensity segments followed by some shorter sessions of strength, flexibility and stretching.
Aerobic Dance
This is an aerobics class geared for the non-dancer. You will use the hustle, stroll, waltz, funk, cha-cha, jig, charleston, samba, pony, tango, leap, disco, jazz steps, and many more all learned through the use of progressive choreography. This is a fun workout using a wide variety of music and challenging formations. With muscle toning and strengthening, and stretching, your cardiovascular workout will be complete.
