PACE (Program to Aid Career Exploration) is an on-campus work program
sponsored by Ohio University's Office of Student Financial Aid &
Scholarships and Career Services. PACE positions offer students
the unique opportunity to explore their career interests and to
gain valuable work experience and skills before leaving college
to compete in the world of work.
The deadline for applying for PACE positions for the 2005-06 school
year is
April 1-25. The following are the position for this year.
- Worksite Wellness Programs Assistant: Presents
wellness programs at Ohio University worksites, conducts health
screenings, and counsels screening participants about their results.
- Publications Specialist: Creates and coordinates
publication of monthly newsletters, write stories, conducts interviews.
- Special Events/Publicity Assistant: Coordinates
three special events, creates publicity materials for these and
other programs, such as nutrition, massage, and personal training.
- Clinical Exercise Physiology Program Assistant:
Assists with the fitness assessments, health prescriptions, and
intake process of new WellWorks members.
- Nutrition Programs Assistant: Assists with
quarterly cooking classes, nutrition programs, weight loss program,
and nutrition counseling.
- Human Resources Assistant: Coordinates new
employee orientations, creates and/or updates policy and procedures
manual and employee handbook.
- Childcare Coordinator: Supervises and manages
day-to-day operation of childcare program.

Note: you do not need to meet the same guidelines of
qualifying for federal financial aid to qualify for PACE.
