General Education + Graduation Requirements
All students at Ohio University, except those enrolled in the Honors Tutorial College, complete the three-tiered General Education Requirement. Each tier focuses on the development of certain intellectual abilities and skills necessary for effective participation in a complex and changing society; together, General Education coursework constitutes approximately a full year of academic study. Coordinated by University College, this innovative system has received a Program Excellence Award from the Ohio Board of Regents.
