This is a course in managerial economics. It is designed not merely to teach economic theory but more fundamentally to show how managers can use economic theories -- even the simplest -- when implemented with some empirical data and statistical techniques to make intelligent business decisions. The stress is placed upon the important point that economics is essentially the science of decision making. Moreover, economics is useful not only for managers in business motivated primarily by profits but also for people in their day to day decision making processes. In this sense managerial economics is essentially an applied economic theory. |
