Description

Hiring, training, assignment of work, employee counseling, promotion, wage and salary administration. Leadership, motivation, and direction of employees toward management/employee-oriented goals.

Methods of Course Instruction

All course content is presented on the World Wide Web; e-mail is used for submission of assignments, as well as for the instructor's evaluation and comments.

Course Objectives

  1. To expose students to basic Human Resource practices.

  2. To provide opportunity for students to exhibit specific problem-solving skills.

  3. To develop your business research skills using the Internet.

  4. To demonstrate business writing abilities.

  5. To increase understanding of management skills through business project completion.

  6. To increase understanding of business environment (skills, knowledge base, and attitudes) through review of HR applications in article, case, and interview format.
