Description

Enrollment at regional campus only. Credit as free elective only, not studio.

Prerequisites

REGIONAL CAMPUS STUDENTS ONLY. 



Methods of Course Instruction

The course covers fundamentals of Photo Shop CS3 with hands-on demonstrations from the book and basic graphic design principles.  Discussions will include design questions and solutions. Course content is divided by weeks. Blackboard will be used for this class to:

  • Retrieve files and assignments from the Course Documents and Assignments

  • Discussion question posts via the Discussion Board

  • Submit all completed projects and the final project via the Digital Drop Box “SEND”

  • Class communications (check Blackboard daily.)

  • Mid-term and Final Project

To access Blackboard, you will need your OAK ID and your password. Blackboard can be accessed via the Ohio University-Zanesville website or the main Ohio University website.

Course Objectives

This online course will provide the foundation for the fundamentals of Adobe PhotoShop CS3 and basic graphic design principles. It will provide a designers discussion forum for pertinent discussion questions and responses from students.

.  The trial version expires after 30 days. If you choose to use the free trial version that expires in 30 days, do not download it or install it until JUNE 30, 2008.

If you wish to purchase Adobe PS CS3, an educational version of the software is available from Ohio University at a substantially reduced cost to the student. Please be aware that if you have an older computer, you may need to (a) upgrade your system to accommodate Adobe Photoshop CS3 [add more RAM or upgrade graphics card or both] or (b) make arrangements to use the computers in OUZ Room 163 while the computer lab is open. Call the OUZ front desk to find out what times Room 163 will be open.
