Course Objectives |
This course will investigate the visual arts of non-Western cultures from ancient times to the present. It aims to develop and increase the perceptual skills of the students, who will be able to recognize artworks and styles of different cultures, as well as the environment that shaped the visual arts. The students will also distinguish formal and contextual elements that relate the works of art to a culture and gain some social aspects necessary to understand the meaning and function of art. |
