Caving Trip

Creep into the depths of several Virginia caves to explore the subterranean environment. While underground you will see a variety of cave formations and wildlife including stalactites, stalagmites, and of course bats! Enjoy evenings around the campfire under the stars. A group dinner will be provided on Saturday night.

Backpacking Basics Clinic

The backpacking basics clinic is ideal for anyone getting into or interested in backpacking. This clinic will focus on the foundations of backpacking and will give you a solid understanding of what goes into excuting a safe and enjoyable backpacking experience.

 

 

Rappelling Trip/Clinic

Join Outdoor Pursuits for an evening of basic rappel training at the Ohio University Challenge Course followed by a full Saturday of rappelling off the sandstone cliffs of the Hocking Hills Rappelling and Climbing area. Participants will learn basic technique, rigging and safety skills working their way up to the 120 foot overhang at Big Spring Hollow.

 

Introduction to Backcountry Land Navigation Clinic

The introduction to Wilderness Navigation clinic is ideal for beginers wanting to learn the basics of navigation in a backcountry setting. The clinic will focus on the foundations of land navigation and provide you with an understanding of the importance of proper navigation skills for your next great outdoor pursuit.

 

 

Old Man's Cave Day Hike Trip

Whitewater Kayaking Trip

Join us as we head to Southwestern Pennsylvania to explore the sport of kayaking! Learn the basics of kayaking while enjoying the beauty of Pennsylvania's scenic rivers. This trip features lessons on equipment, paddle strokes, river features, maneuvering, and safety...it's jam-packed full of info! Trip cost includes instruction, equipment, camping, and transportation.

This trip will also be used to collect information as part of on-going research into the psychological states of beginning kayakers. This research will be conducted throughout the weekend while on the water, by the course instructors, Erik Dahlstrom and Bruce Martin.
