FAQ

How do I get credit for an internship?
You can submit your application online. If you are not sure whether a particular internship meets the Department's eligibility requirements, ask the Internship Director.

Where can I find an internship?
Feel free to see the Internship Director. If you can't make it during office hours, then we'd be happy to set up another time to talk.

How many credit hours can I earn?
You can earn up to 15 total hours of credit, up to 5 of which can be for a grade. Full-time internships worked for a full quarter may qualify for the full 15 credit hours; if the internship is part-time or does not run an entire term, the number of credit hours will be reduced. As a rule of thumb, one hour of credit requires 25 hours on the job. If you are doing the internship for a grade, you will have to write an academic paper.

When is the application deadline?
You should apply for credit once you have found an internship that suits you.

When should I see the Director?
Feel free to drop by if you are thinking about doing an internship or if you are considering some internship options. When you have been accepted to an internship, please make it a point to come in for a chat.
