For purposes of this policy, work days for all faculty, whether full or part time, shall be counted based on each academic quarter worked at five (5) days per week (Monday through Friday) from the first day of classes through the "date grades are due" for each of the three academic quarters, including holidays. In the event that the day grades are due falls on Saturday or Sunday it shall be considered a work day. An academic director or chair whose contract reflects a period other than the academic year will have their work days counted on a five (5) day per week basis as above, except from the first day of their employment period through the last day of employment as indicated on the contract.
Employment situations which are not addressed by any of the above provisions shall be interpreted and appropriately administered by the Provost and the Vice President for Finance.
Salary for a faculty member going on the payroll January 12, 1998 would be $10,928.55 (gross) for the Winter Quarter. The first payment would be for $2,928.55 to reflect the late start. All future payments would be for $4,000.00 (gross) each month through June (assuming 9 pay plan).
$36,000 / 3 quarters = gross per quarter $ 12,000.00 Daily rate for the quarter equals $214.29 (12,000/56) 56 working days for the quarter Less 5 days in January @ $214.29 (1,071.45) Gross pay for Winter Quarter $ 10,928.55
Partial salary for newly hired faculty who begin employment at the beginning of Winter or Spring Quarter shall be calculated by reducing the annual base salary l/3 for each quarter of the academic year not worked.
