Admissions
If you wish to carry a limited number
of courses at the university and are not interested in earning a degree
at this time, you may apply and register as a nondegree undergraduate student
applicant or as a nondegree post baccalaureate student. Application is not limited to those who have
earned a high school diploma. Attendance at Ohio
University as a nondegree student DOES NOT guarantee future
admission to the university as a degree-seeking student. For information

Registration
Current and Previous Ohio University
Students:
If you have been an Ohio University
student anytime after 1985 you need not complete any forms. Use the Ohio University Web Registration page.
To use web registration you will need the following:
- PID (Person Identification Number) or Social Security Number (SSN)
- RAC (Registration Access Code)
- Call number(s) for the class(es) you would like to add/drop/replace. For information on courses offered online please select fall, winter, spring, or summer
online and then 'course scheduled " link at the top of the page.
Steps for logging on to web registration:
- Enter your PID or SSN.
- Enter your RAC (not required for summer).
- Select the term for which you would like to register.
- Click Submit
If you have skipped one or more quarters of attendance, please phone Maggie Thomas in the Registrars office at (740) 593-4186 to verify your personal data for re-enrollment. You will the receive your registration access code.

Nondegree Undergraduate
and Graduate Students:
To register as a nondegree student, please complete either
the Nondegree Undergraduate Registration Form or the Post Baccalaureate Registration Form by
clicking here, saving on to computer, tabbing from field to field
to fill data in, and e-mailing the completed form as an attachment
to OU.Online@ohio.edu for the first
quarter you wish to be registered. If you choose to register for
courses in subsequent quarter(s), you may register via Web registration. Please
see instructions above.
Students Pursuing a Degree at
Another Institution:
If you are taking online courses at Ohio University as a nondegree
student, but are pursuing a degree at another institution, the credit
you earn may be transferred. Please check with your home campus
institution to find out how the credit may be applied to your degree.
The credit can only be applied to your degree upon receipt of an
official transcript at your home institution. To request an official
Ohio University transcript refer to: www.ohiou.edu/registrar/transcri.htm.
Registration for Ohio University
Online courses begins well in advance of the start of each quarter.
For specific registration and course start and end dates, click
on the quarter(s) of interest. Payment is due upon receipt of an e-bill or by the date specified on the calendar for each quarter.
Once you're registered you
will receive a mailed letter to your home with details about our programs, approximately 10 days prior to the start of the quarter. You will receive an providing you with the password to
access your course(s).
High School Students Attending Ohio University Under the
Post Secondary Class Option:
High school students may register for online courses, but these
courses will not be covered financially under the
Post Secondary Option. This plan for high school students covers
traditional campus-based courses only.
Fees
The prices listed in the Courses
section indicate total quarter registration of less than 11 hours
and vary based on the number of credit hours for each course, whether
the course is graduate or undergraduate, whether you are an Ohio
resident or not, how many credit hours you have earned at Ohio University,
and the campus from which the faculty member primarily teaches.
If you are registered for 11 hours or more, Ohio University Online
courses will be included as part of your total University comprehensive
fee. (Please note that graduate students may register for undergraduate
Ohio University Online courses, but will be billed at the graduate
fees rates.) Payment is due upon receipt of a bill or by the date
specified on the calendar for each quarter.
You may be eligible for financial
aid. To be eligible for financial aid through Ohio University, you
must be admitted as a degree seeking student. However, if you are
a degree seeking student at another institution and you are receiving
financial aid, it may be applied to Ohio University Online courses.
