An underdog rises to the top
Ohio University is among 28 Division I members of the 91-school American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). The team competes in the eight-team Central States Collegiate Hockey League, which includes Iowa State and Illinois. Kent State and Ohio University are the only teams in the league from Ohio. The Bobcats began a 34-game regular season in late September and continue play into early March. After winning three consecutive national titles and compiling a 118-15-6 record over the last four seasons, winning has come nearly as easy as scoring an empty-net goal.

Recently published books
Professor Emeritus of American History Robert Daniel has captured the beginnings of Ohio University and Athens in his book Athens, Ohio: The Village Years, which traces the area from the period before white settlement to 1920. Associate Professor of History Jeffrey Herf recently published Divided Memory: The Nazi Past in the Two Germanys, dealing with life in Nazi Germany. Ohio University alumnus also continually publish books dealing with a wide variety of topics.
