Dora Kennedy, AB '42, recently received recognition for her leadership in foreign language education, including the Nelson Brooks Award from the Northeast Conference on Teaching Foreign Languages and the Florence Steiner Award from the American Council on Teaching Foreign Languages. Kennedy, an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland at College Park, is a former foreign language teacher and supervisor and has pioneered several nationally recognized language programs.

C. Wesley McGowan, BSC '42, of Bradenton, Fla., published his fourth book, "All About Water," an illustrated dictionary of water terminology.

Al Chestone, BSED '47, of River Vale, N.J., published a book, "My Parting Gift," which serves as a practical guide for making arrangements after a family member's death.

W. Dale Crites, BBA '48, of Okemos, Mich., and his family participated this past spring in the Naster Alpine Ski National finals, where he finished third in his age group. He also won the slalom event at Michigan's Senior Winter Olympics.

Gerald Radcliffe, AB '48, retired Ross County (Ohio) probate and juvenile judge, was the 2000 recipient of the Ohio State Bar Associaton's Award for Service to the Public for 50 Years.
