
Jeanette Grasselli Brown, BS '50, HON '78, has joined the board of
directors of McDonald & Co. Investments Inc. of Cleveland. Currently
a member of the Ohio Board of Regents and a former Ohio University trustee,
Grasselli Brown also is former director of corporate research for BP America.
Gilbert "Linc" Neal, AB '50, MA '52, retired after 25 years
of service as an engineering psychologist at White Sands Missile Range in
New Mexico. He also has been serving as alternate Municipal Judge in Cloudcroft,
N.M. Neal and his wife, Joyce, AB '53, live in Cloudcroft. Mrs. Neal
retired from the El Paso, Texas, Independent School District and works as
a parent consultant for the New Mexico School for the Deaf.
Frank Eckmair, BA '53, MFA '62, has established a print studio in
Gilbertsville, N.Y., specializing in wood cuts, wood engravings, broadsides
and publi-cations. He recently retired after a 32-year career teaching printmaking
at Buffalo State College. His wood engravings appeared in the book Houses
of Memory.
Hank Kozloski, BSJ '53, former sports editor of The Lorain Journal
and long-time beat writer assigned to cover the Cleveland Browns and Indians
for The Journal and other newspapers in the Horvitz chain, was inducted
into the Lorain Sports Hall of Fame May 9. Kozloski is in his 26th season
as the Indians' official press box scorer.
John F. Letscher, BSCOM '53, recently retired as first vice president
of finance and investment operations for Western Southern Life Insurance
Co. in Cincinnati, where he had been an officer for the past 10 years. He
is married to Betty Beer Letscher, an adjunct professor of international
marketing at the University of Cincinnati, who attended OU in 1954 and 1955.
Bruce Burton, BSME '55, has earned the appointment of endowed faculty
chair at Ohio Northern University in Ada. He is the Leroy H. Lytle Chair
in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the Ohio Northern faculty in 1958.
Rosemary Hack Duncan, BS '55, was honored by the American Society
of Clinical Pathologists for her 40 years as a medical technologist. She
is a senior staff technologist at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco,
Texas. Her husband, Elmer, is a professor of philosophy at Baylor University.
Robert Mayer, BFA '55, MFA '57, is senior editor of Shutterbug
magazine. He also wrote Minolta Classic Cameras, a Magic Lantern
Guide published by Silver Pixel Press in 1995.
Rolf Zerges, BSCOM '57, was recently granted continuing
appointment at Alfred State College, part of the SUNY System in New York.
He joined the college in 1987 as vice president for academic affairs and
currently is a professor in the Business Administration and Reporting Technology
Department.
James DeVore, BFA '58, MFA '63, has been named to the Eleanor H.
and Robert W. Biggs Chair in the Arts, an endowed faculty chair position
at Ohio Northern University in Ada.
Ben Mahmoud, BFA '58, MFA '60, is a distinguished research professor
in the School of Art at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. His still-life
paintings referring to issues of mortality were showcased earlier this year
at a one-person exhibition at the Sonia Zaks Gallery in Chicago. Mahmoud,
a member of the Northern Illinois faculty since 1965, has had more than
150 one-person exhibitions of his work in universities, museums and art
centers. He has won numerous awards, including a National Endowment Fellowship
in Painting.
Susan Kline, M.D., AB '59, has been named vice provost
of university student affairs and executive vice dean for academic affairs
at New York Medical College in Valhalla. She is responsible for directing
all under-graduate, graduate and continuing medical education programs in
the college's three schools. Kline had been interim dean of the medical
school and vice president for medical affairs since 1994. She joined the
college in 1984.
