Exhibition

Included in the exhibition are approximately 150 paintings, photographs, works on paper, mixed-media, sculpture, and video, executed by Appalachian artists residing in the tri-state regions of southeastern Ohio, southwestern West Virginia, and northeastern Kentucky. This multi-disciplinary exhibition explores diverse perspectives on Appalachian stereotypes and culture. Through a variety of themes and perspectives, the exhibition and the artists included investigate and challenge predominant representations by presenting a view of Appalachia as residents perceive themselves. The exhibition opens on August 26 and will be on view through December 23, 2003.
