ITD: Overseas English language programs

University Programs

The Ohio Program of Intensive English provides services outside of the United States. For example, OPIE has designed programs that meet the needs of universities which would like to enhance their English language programs; we can provide programs staffed by trained professionals from Ohio University for teaching and/or curriculum and materials development.

OPIE has designed programs for general English, as well as Pre-Academic Studies in English for students who wish to study in English-speaking countries. Courses might include writing, reading, research, special electives, study skills, and cross-cultural adjustment. A good example is Chubu University's OPELT program.

Community EFL Programs

OPIE also can design, administer, and deliver English and cross-cultural programs for citizens in communities throughout the world. These programs include multilevel classes in general English fluency and special topics such as English for Business, Reading Newspapers in English, Holidays, and Exploring Themes in World Literature. English fairs and special social activities also can be a part of this program.
