The Graduate (M.S.) Program of the Department of Geological Sciences welcomes all qualified applicants who possess an undergraduate degree in geology or in an allied science field such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, biological science, or engineering. The Department collaborates across three research clusters:

1. Soild Earth and Planetary Dynamics
2. Sedimentary Geology and Paleobiology
3. Environmental & Surficial Processes

Admission and degree requirements for each option are outlined in the Graduate Program Handbook (PDF). A Masters degree requires at least eight letter-graded graduate courses and the completion of a thesis. One of the eight courses must be Geology 505.
