Graduate (M.S.) Program
The Graduate (M.S.) Program of the Department of Geological Sciences welcomes all qualified applicants who possess an undergraduate degree in geology or in an allied science field such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, biological science, or engineering. Financial aid may be obtained for undergraduate and graduate studies, but the Department also provides support to a fixed number of Masters students.
The support takes the form of teaching and research assistantships. Teaching assistantships are offered according to academic records among other variables and may include a monthly paycheck and full tuition waiver. Research assistantships are offered by individual professors depending upon availabilty of grant funds and may include a monthly paycheck and full tuition waiver.
Financial aid, which is different from assistantships, is available to qualified individuals through several programs. Information about financial aid can be found at:
