Lawrence Gingerich has been the Environmental and Hazardous Waste Coordinator since December 2003. He is responsible for the proper collection and disposition of radioactive and chemical hazardous wasted and directing environmental compliance activities. Lawrence has had a variety of experience that spans 30 years working in a variety of positions including industrial hygiene technician for the State Department of Health, compliance safety and health officer for the Unites States Department of Labor (Occupational Health and Safety Administration), division industrial hygienist for Mead Corporation, Senior Corporate Industrial Hygienist for American Electric Power Service Corporation, President of Proactive Environmental Inc. and Instructor for Ohio University in Chillicothe. In these position Lawrence has gained experience from the positions he has held including but not limited to: regulatory enforcement, developing compliance strategies, corporate and community emergency planning, safety, health and environmental training, development and implementation of environmental, safety and health programs, directing compliance efforts wit the OSHA, EPA and NRC regulations, performing industrial hygiene, safety and environmental risk assessments, development and implementation of comprehensive occupational safety and health policies and procedures.

Lawrence received his BS in Botany from Ohio University in 1970 and MS in biology (chemosystematics) from West Virginia University in 1973. Lawrence is a board certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and a board certified Safety Professional (CSP). He is a member of the local and national American Industrial Hygiene Association and a local and national member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. Lawrence has one publication and has presented at the national convention of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
