Overview

The External Student Program allows you to complete coursework and a degree -- without coming to campus -- by using services offered through the Office of Lifelong Learning.

The staff of the External Student Program will help you determine a course of action for accomplishing your degree goals and then guide you through a degree program. A staff member also will serve as a link between you, faculty, and other University personnel.

All of the degrees offered through the External Student Program are the same as those offered on the Ohio University Campus.

Other Information

The External Student Program admits students continuously throughout the year. Any adult who has completed a high school diploma or GED may enroll in the program. If you have not previously attended college, you need to submit an official copy of your high school transcript or GED.

Students with previous college credit must have a minimum accumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for admission to the External Student Program.

Admission to the External Student Program does not guarantee admission to on-campus programs of study.
