Associate's Degree in Arts or Associate's Degree in Sciences
The Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees provide a general liberal art background with emphasis on arts and humanities or social sciences, and science and mathematics. These degrees are recommended for most students who ultimately plan to complete a four-year degree.
The Associate in Arts degree requires 96 quarter hours of credit. If you earn This includes either 30 quarter hours of art and humanities, 15 hours of social sciences, and 15 hours of natural sciences and /or mathematics; or 30 quarter hours of social sciences, 15 hours of arts and humanities, and 15 hours of natural sciences and/or mathematics. The remaining 36 hours are of your own choosing.
The Associate in Science degree also requires the completion of 96 quarter hours of credit. This must include 30 quarter hours of natural sciences and mathematics, 15 hours of social sciences, and 15 hours of arts and/or humanities. The remaining 36 hours may be of your own choosing.
Associate's Degree in Applied Business
This two-year program of study in business management technology leads to the Associate in Applied Business degree. Requirements for this degree include business management technology courses, related basic courses, and general education courses. This program prepares you to assume paraprofessional positions in business, industry, and government. Requirements include the completion of 103 to 105 quarter hours of credit. This degree is not normally recommended for those students planning to complete a four-year degree.
Associate's Degree in Individualized Studies
The Associate in Individualized Studies is a self-designed, career-oriented degree plan. The Associate in Individualized Studies proposal must outline your intended course of study and area of concentration. The area of concentration must contain a minimum of 30 quarter hours of credit. Basic degree requirements include 96 quarter hours, 30 of which must be completed after admission into the A.I.S. degree program.
