The 2002-2003 Performing Arts Series: Connecting to Our Community
through the Arts
Welcome
to the season. We doubt most of you ever thought of our small,
charming community as a "bright lights--big city" kind of place, but
if you take a look at our Performing Arts Series this year, you might
think you're in a major metropolitan area. We are so delighted to
invite you to stay at home and take advantage of our season's
big-city shows, without the big-city prices.
We
truly have it all this year -- Broadway favorites, world-renowned
international acts, Grammy and Tony award winners, and performances
featuring America's greatest composers.
Continuing
our tradition of collaboration, the Performing Arts Series is
co-presenting every performance with other campus and
community organizations-- the University Program Council, the
International Student Union, the Black Cultural Programming Board,
The College of Fine Arts, the Division of Student Affairs, the
Department of Health Education and Wellness, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
and Transgender Programs, the Athens Center for Film and Video, and
Hocking Valley Bank. Without the help of these organizations, we
would not have been able to bring the Bright Lights-- Big
City season to our stage.
The
2002-03 performances promise to be the brightest, biggest season ever
and I hope you'll plan to be a part of the excitement!
Below
is a listing of the performances, dates, times and locations. Be sure
